Earning points, getting free Premium Member access, and expanding your professional network has been simplified on Experts Exchange with improvements to our Points System (see the infographic below). This is just one of our new features intended to make your time on the Experts Exchange Network work for you, stay tuned for more.
How the updated POINTS SYSTEM works
As part of our updates, we clarified how to earn points on Experts Exchange. In exchange for submitting articles and videos for other users on the site, you will receive a standard number of points in each step of the process:
- 3,000 points when accepted
- 3,000 points when approved
- 3,000 points when awarded
In addition to earning points for submitting content, your article or video earns additional points based on how useful other members find it. This helps to keep Experts Exchange full of valuable solutions for our members:
- 1 point per view
- 100 points per helpful vote
- 500 points when used in a solution
If you do not have the time to create unique content, but are more adept at providing specific solutions for other members, we have also improved the way we award points for answering questions:
- 1,000 – 2,000 points per question
Using the power of Experts Exchange, you can also get feedback on any website and reliably find bugs to be corrected. Members can easily earn points by using their experience to find bugs in Expert Testing:
- 20 – 500 points per bug
Not only have we standardized the way points are earned, but we also made it easier than ever to earn one month of free Premium Member access for your contributions on the Experts Exchange Network:
- Earn 3,000 points in the previous month
- Earn 50,000 points in the previous 12 months
- Earn 5,000,000 points in your lifetime (earn a lifetime of free Premium Member access)
