Last week we wrapped our most recent expert t-shirt charity campaign, and the results are in! Thanks to the generous donations of the Experts Exchange community, we’ve  once again surpassed our goal of 500 expert rank t-shirts donations. This time around, a total of 554 expert rank t-shirts were traded in to help fund a new water well in Ethiopia.

In addition to expert shirt redemptions, we received a number of generous cash donations that will be matched by Experts Exchange owner Randy Redberg. Thanks to all who contributed!

This year we’re continuing our partnership with WaterRun to build a well in the Aditigray Village of Ethiopia. (GPS coordinates: E39.25018, N13.2558 ). The region is home to over 350 people in need of clean drinking water.

mapOver 1 billion people around the world lack access to clean drinking water. Almost 6,000 people die every day as a result of diseases from contaminated water. An astounding 83% of those are children. Our previous two projects with WaterRun have resulted in clean drinking water for more than 600 people in two villages. In 2011, Experts Exchange Project Manager Megan Farrell visited both sites, here is her video report from that trip:

Thank you again to all the Experts and members in our community for your donations! Your contributions will help another village experience the life-altering change as those in the story above.
