Give Thanks: 8 Technologies We Appreciate This ThanksgivingNovember 15, 2017 12:41 pm ·
This time of year we think of others and practice gratitude. The Experts Exchange team recently reflected on our many blessings, and we noticed technology almost always landed near the top of the list. From keeping us connected to helping us complete work from any location, technology plays a big role in our day-to-day lives.
Now, we invite you to join us around the proverbial Thanksgiving table as we say what external technologies we’re thankful for and why.
My files are synced on all my devices which makes it super easy to pick up where I left off.
Coschedule, Google Analytics, CrazyEgg
Coschedule allows me to schedule social campaigns months out in a few easy steps. I never fear my calendar will be empty and our company audiences will be left content-less.
Google Analytics and their Campaign URL Builder gives me marketing power and data to back up my campaign strategies and tactics. I never feel unable to prove the value of any campaign I run with this tool.
CrazyEgg allows me to see where people are on my landing pages, what they click, what they don’t, and where they came from. I am never without a proper heaping of visitor data with this tool.
–Allie Watts, Demand Generation & Digital Marketing Specialist
It’s the most important tool I use on a daily basis. I use it for so many things; from being connected with ongoing things in the world to simply staying in touch with my wife. It keeps me connected with my family and that’s most important to me.
–Kyle Santos, Customer Relations
Sony PlayMemories Mobile
It helps me quickly post better baby pictures to Instagram!
–Anthony Pangilinan, Developer
-Front End Developer
Git (the version control system)
It allows everyone to work on their own code and merge it together magically without it being a train wreck every time. Projects would grind to a halt without it.
–Michael Arciniega, Quality Assurance Staff
AWS Database Migration Service
It lets me copy most of my Oracle database to a Postgres database only a few seconds out of date.
–Doug Walton, Database Administrator
Google Drive & JIRA
Google Drive is fast, seamlessly transitions between devices and operating systems, makes it easy to share and collaborate with coworkers, and lets me work from any location as long as I have internet access. Personally, it allows me to share lists, documents, and photos with loved ones.
I could talk all day about how JIRA is a lifesaver of organization. It simplifies my daily task list, is agile when items need to be reordered in priority, and helps me keep track of what I need to follow up on for approval or completion.
–Erin Wooddell, Content Marketer & Copywriter
